Pala Pet Foods

Pala Pet Foods is an Estonian brand of air-dried raw food and meat treats that consistently backs simple, short recipes. For us it's one of the two main brands in the food category - chosen because the recipes are clear, the meat comes from a defined source, and the quality is consistent between batches.

Air-drying is a process where raw meat loses moisture at a low temperature. Compared with traditional BARF, it needs no freezer and keeps for several months at room temperature; compared with classic dry food, it preserves far more of the raw protein's value, because it wasn't cooked at high heat. For many owners it's a convenient middle ground between those two ways of feeding.

The range holds two lines. The first is food in numbered recipes - from the classic beef-and-poultry mix, through beef with salmon, to lamb with herring and recipes for dogs with allergies. Each portion contains animal protein, vegetables, fish oil and ground bone - no grains, no gluten, no artificial additives. The second line is treats - 100% meat, dried without preservatives, in pieces for training. We have lamb, rabbit, duck and beef liver.
