Raddog leather ball - Maxi

The largest ball in the Raddog leather range: a sphere about 20 cm in diameter with a webbing loop sewn on. The dog cannot fit it in its mouth, so it has to grab hold of it and push or pull it, which makes the game different from play with the classic 9 cm ball.

Why leather

Leather with a soft, suede-like texture is pleasant in the mouth and gives a little when the dog grips it. It is the choice for calmer motivational work, for a dog that should hold the ball for a moment. The ring-grade version from the same series stands up to harder biting.

What a ball this size is for

A large ball is easy to spot from a distance, so it works well for the send-away and for building engagement in open ground. It also suits dogs that take in a small ball at a glance and quickly lose interest in it.

The webbing loop

The loop stays in the handler's hand, so you can move the ball along the ground, flick it up and take it back quickly after the grip. The handle also makes throwing easier: you swing by the webbing, not by the ball itself.

How to use it

End the game with a tug or by letting your dog have the ball, so it wins rather than just chases. Put the toy away after the session - left out for unsupervised play, it quickly loses its value as a reward and wears out faster.
