Raddog leather bite tug - Globus

The leather version of the Globus bite tug: the same flat shape and handle layout, but sewn from genuine leather. The smell and texture of leather make it a higher-value reward than the fabric version for many dogs.

What it's made of

Genuine leather, double-stitched over the whole surface. Leather behaves differently from nylcot: it is heavier, denser and over time moulds itself to the grip of a particular dog.

Two handles and a loop

The tug has two soft cord handles and a sewn-in loop in the middle for a leash or a line. You can work one-handed, with both hands, or hold the tug on a line when tugging.

What it is for in training

It works as a reward after the send-away, after a retrieve and in obedience exercises where you need something more attractive than a ball. It also works well for teaching the "out" with the two-toy method, when the second toy needs to be clearly less attractive.

Leather or nylcot?

The ring-grade version is lighter, cheaper and easier to look after. The leather one is heavier and more attractive to most dogs, so we tend to keep it as a "dessert" reward. Store leather in a dry place and do not dry it on a radiator.
