The Herman Sprenger ULTRA-PLUS Easy-On prong collar - a German maker with over 150 years of tradition, whose equipment is a standard in professional dog training worldwide.
Easy-On - one-handed on and off
This is the model's main feature. The Easy-On mechanism lets you put the collar on and take it off with one hand, in a single move - useful when your other hand is holding the leash, or when you're fitting the collar out in the field.
The leash clips on centrally - the snap hook closes into both rings of the collar at once.
Construction and how it works
A central plate (centerplate) spreads the pressure evenly to both sides of the dog's neck, taking the load off the sensitive windpipe. The links are rounded, with no sharp edges. An extra chain runs through the collar to limit how far it tightens, so the correction stays precise and controlled.
Stainless steel
Stainless steel is resistant to corrosion and moisture - the collar won't rust in contact with rain, wet grass or regular washing. A good choice if you use the collar daily in training and want it to last.
Adjusting the size
The collar's circumference can be matched to the dog's neck by adding or removing links (always an even number). That way the collar lasts a long time, even while the dog is still growing.
Important - for use during training only
This prong collar is intended for on-leash work during active training. It should not be used during free running, transport or while the dog is unsupervised. The manufacturer notes that any discolouration of the coat is not grounds for a complaint.
