This is exactly the same model as the silver ULTRA-PLUS - same construction, central plate and side ClickLock buckle - in a black finish.

How does it differ from the silver version?

The black colour is created by a galvanic process - the steel is blackened and polished. The result is a distinctive matte finish that, over time, takes on a natural worn look at points of contact. This is not a permanent coating - the manufacturer states plainly that the black wearing through is a normal, intended effect of use, not a fault.

Important on light or white coats

The manufacturer suggests considering the silver or CUROGAN version for dogs with a light or white coat - the black finish can discolour the hair, which is not grounds for a complaint.

Important - for use during training only

This prong collar is intended for on-leash work during active training. It should not be used during free running, transport or while the dog is unsupervised.
