Herman Sprenger ULTRA-PLUS prong collar - mini - black stainless steel - 41 cm / 2.25 mm

The Herman Sprenger ULTRA-PLUS prong collar in the mini version with a ClickLock buckle - a model with thinner wire (2.25 mm) and shorter links (3 cm), made for dogs with a smaller or more delicate neck. Black galvanic finish, with a base length of 41 cm.

Who the mini is for

The mini suits smaller dogs, breeds with a slim neck, and any situation where you want gentler, more precise work in training. A thinner wire and shorter links act more subtly than the standard 3.2 mm version, while keeping the same principle of even pressure.

ClickLock buckle and central plate

ClickLock is a quick, secure buckle that won't release under load. You put the collar on without unhooking the links and without pulling it over the head - the manufacturer recommends this especially for dogs that get impatient when a collar goes on. The central plate means pressure doesn't act directly on the dog's sensitive windpipe, and the links on the neck side are rounded.

The ULTRA-PLUS system

ULTRA-PLUS is a length-adjustment system based on an even number of links - you add or remove links in pairs, each change shifting the circumference by 6 cm (for 3 cm links). That way the collar fits precisely to a particular dog's neck.

Black galvanic coating

The base of the collar is stainless steel - resistant to corrosion and moisture. The black finish is created by galvanic blackening of the surface followed by polishing. The manufacturer states plainly that the coating is not permanent - over time, at points of contact and friction, it naturally wears through, giving a patina effect.

Sprenger also notes that on dogs with very light or white coats, the hair may discolour where it touches the black collar.

For on-leash work only

This prong collar is intended for on-leash work during active training. It should not be used during free running, transport or while the dog is unsupervised.
