The Herman Sprenger ULTRA-PLUS prong collar in the semi-slip Curogan version, 63 cm long with a 4 mm wire - for big, strong dogs with a broad neck.
The semi-slip version has no ClickLock buckle; the leash clips into the rings, and a pull tightens the collar evenly around the neck. It's the classic pinch-collar mechanism.
The ULTRA-PLUS system
ULTRA-PLUS is a length-adjustment system based on an even number of links - you add or remove links in pairs, and each change shifts the circumference by 10 cm. That way the collar fits precisely to a particular dog's neck.
Curogan
CUROGAN is a patented copper-tin alloy, developed specifically for making dog collars and prong collars. Its high copper content, combined with carefully chosen additives, gives the material exceptional durability and corrosion resistance.
CUROGAN is completely nickel-free - the metal that most often triggers allergic reactions in dogs with sensitive skin, such as irritation or rashes. Prong collars and chains made of this material are also less likely to discolour the coat, especially on light-coloured dogs.
Because of the high copper content, the collar may naturally darken over time with regular use. The original shade is easy to restore with a standard polishing paste - which we also stock. Bear in mind, too, that CUROGAN wears down a little faster than traditional steel collars, so it's worth checking its condition regularly and replacing it when signs of wear appear, to keep the dog safe and comfortable.
Important - for use during training only
This prong collar is intended for on-leash work during active training. It should not be used during free running, transport or while the dog is unsupervised.
