Raddog small ring-grade ball - on a string

A small ring-grade ball with a webbing loop sewn on. Simple, affordable motivational equipment: the loop lets you move the ball around, throw it further and give it to your dog without bending down for the ball itself.

What it's made of

Sewn from ring-grade material (known as nylcot) - the same material used for bite sleeves and large training tugs. It stands up to intensive biting and keeps its shape, so it encourages a full, calm grip.

What it is good for

The manufacturer recommends it as a motivational aid and a reward in obedience, protection and scent work. It also works for ordinary play, for retrieving and for teaching the send-away.

A cylinder instead of a sphere

This is not a round ball but a cylinder about 7 cm in diameter. The dog takes it sideways, like a small roll, so it is easier to get a deeper grip and hold on firmly when tugging. After a throw, the cylinder does not run away as far as a ball, which helps when you work in a small space. The round version from the same series has the same diameter, but it rolls and works better in open ground.

Easy to carry on you

It fits in a pocket and is easy to hide from your dog, so it works well as a reward you bring out for a moment. The webbing loop stays in your hand while the dog holds the ball in its mouth.
