Raddog small leather ball - on a string

A small leather ball with a webbing loop sewn on. A reward for working from the hand: the loop lets you move the ball around, throw it further and give it to your dog without bending down for the ball itself.

A cylinder instead of a sphere

This is not a round ball but a cylinder about 7 cm in diameter. The dog takes it sideways, like a small roll, so it is easier to get a deeper grip and hold on firmly when tugging. After a throw, the cylinder does not roll as far as a ball, which helps when you work in a small space.

Why leather

Leather with a soft, suede-like texture is light and pleasant in the mouth, and gives a little when the dog grips it. It is the choice for a reward your dog should hold for a moment, and for calmer motivational work. The ring-grade version from the same series stands up to harder biting.

What it is good for

Motivation and reward in obedience, protection and scent work, and outside training ordinary play, retrieving and teaching the send-away. It fits in a pocket and is easy to hide from your dog, so it works well as a reward you bring out for a moment.
