A set for the handler who is teaching a dog the send-away. It is an IGP obedience exercise (IGP is a dog sport with tracking, obedience and protection) in which the dog runs straight ahead on command and drops on a signal. The set holds four items that list this exercise as their use: a target, a bite wedge and two balls of different sizes.
A target for the dog to run to
You place the Triangle at a chosen spot and send the dog to it. The dog runs to the target, and the chance to grip it gives a clear, concrete reward at the end. The Triangle is sewn from nylcot, a ring-grade fabric.
A bite wedge for a soft grip
The Raddog wedge is covered with sheepskin, which is more pleasant in the mouth than rough jute, so young dogs and dogs still learning to hold take it readily. The producer names it as an aid for teaching the send-away: the wedge is placed at the target point as a visible reward. Three handles let you tug with both hands or offer the wedge to the dog from above.
A big ball, visible from afar
The Maxi leather ball is about 20 cm across, so it is easy to spot from a distance and works well when sending the dog ahead. The dog cannot hide it in its mouth, it wraps around it and pushes or pulls. The webbing loop stays in the handler's hand.
A small ball for your pocket
The small ring-grade fabric ball is a cylinder about 7 cm in diameter. It fits in a pocket, so it works as a reward you pull out for a moment, and after a throw it does not roll as far as a round ball.
Cheaper than separately, with free delivery
Bought separately, these four products cost PLN 358. In the set you pay PLN 340, which is PLN 18 less. The set costs over PLN 300, so delivery to a parcel locker is free. Add gift wrapping for PLN 10.
How to use it
Put the toys away after each session. Left out for the dog to play with alone, they quickly lose their value as a reward and wear out faster.
