Collection: Fur saver chains

Chains are everyday gear - for the walk, for shows, for obedience training without using a prong collar. Unlike an ordinary collar, a chain works gently and evenly, and its single-link construction doesn't rub the coat the way webbing does. A well-chosen chain stays on a dog's neck for years.

Our range carries Herman Sprenger chains in three materials: stainless steel (rust- and water-resistant), chrome-plated steel (cheaper, less resistant to long contact with water) and Curogan - a copper, tin and zinc alloy that looks like gold, causes no contact allergies, and is recommended for dogs with sensitive skin. Each material comes in different link thicknesses (3 mm, 4 mm, 5 mm) and two link types - short (3-4 cm) and long (5 cm). Some models come in a black electroplated finish - worth remembering that this is a coating which wears over time.

The length is chosen with 3-5 cm to spare over the neck circumference - it should slip off freely over the head. Some models have an extra snap hook that makes them easier to put on dogs with a large head.

Not sure which thickness and length to choose? Write to us - we'll advise based on the breed and the dog's height.
