Collection: Prong collars

A prong collar is a training tool that, used correctly, gives a dog a clear, even signal about leash tension - it doesn't rely on pain, but on spreading gentle pressure around the whole neck. That's why it has been the standard in IGP/IPO sport (a dog sport combining tracking, obedience and protection work) and in advanced obedience training for decades.

Our range is built mainly on Herman Sprenger prong collars - a German maker with over 150 years of tradition, whose prong collars are the reference standard for the whole industry. We have the standard and semi-slip versions (self-limiting - capping the maximum tightening), in stainless steel, chrome-plated steel and Curogan (an anti-allergenic alloy). Sizes run from mini 2.25 mm / 40 cm to standard 4 mm / 70 cm. Most models have the ClickLock buckle - fast and secure, and it won't release under load.

The choice of prong collar depends on the dog's neck thickness, the breed's size and the training goal. Smaller breeds and dogs starting out with a prong collar usually go for the 2.25 mm / 40-50 cm versions; standard working breeds (Belgian Shepherd, German Shepherd, Rottweiler) - 3.2 mm / 52-58 cm. Longer models come apart in sections - you fit the collar to the dog by removing links in pairs.
